FBH

The Ferdinand-Braun-Institute, Leibniz-Institute for Highest Frequency Technology (FBH) is part of the Research Association (FV) Berlin. It conducts application oriented and industry relevant research in the area of high frequency technology, especially in the areas micro- and millimeter wave technologies and optoelectronics. The FBH does disciplinary and interdisciplinary work in the areas of devices and circuits, material and process technologies, as well as computer-aided design techniques.

The FBH performs its research themes within the context of contract research and services for research partners and industry, thereby enabling a bridge between research and application. To maintain its know-how advantage, the Ferdinand-Braun-Institute also works on fundamental topics which are initially knowledge driven.

MBI

The Max-Born-Institute for Nonlinear Optics and Short Pulse Spectroscopy (MBI) is part of the Berlin Research Association (FV) and is a member of the Leibniz Association.

The MBI conducts basic research in the field of nonlinear optics and ultrafast dynamics of the interaction of matter with laser light and pursues the resulting application aspects. To this end, it develops and uses ultra-short and ultra-intense short pulse lasers and laser based short-pulse light sources in a broad spectral range together with methods of nonlinear spectroscopy.

With its research, the MBI performs supra-regional tasks of general nationwide interest. It participates in numerous collaborative projects with research groups and industrial partners in national and international collaborations. In addition, the MBI also offers the use of its research capacity and know-how to external scientist through an active visitor program.
